From the Forum: Hiring Two Contractors for a Renovation Project
Homeowners are planning a major apartment renovation and are thinking of using one contractor for the structural work and another for the rest of the renovation.
Would using two contractors for a project make it more complicated than it’s worth? Homeowners are planning a major apartment renovation which will require structural work. In getting quotes for the full job they are finding they range so wildly that they are considering splitting the job in an effort to save some money – have one contractor do the structural work and another the rest of the renovation. Will the possible savings be worth the inconvenience? What else should they consider when looking at bids?
Please chime in with your advice.
