Homeowners are renovating and thinking of leaving the ceiling joists exposed on the garden level of their house but have been told by a architect that it would not be to code.
Homeowners are renovating and thinking of leaving the ceiling joists exposed on the garden level of their house but have been told by a architect that it would not be to code. They will be living in the space and the floor above and are hoping that would make a difference in code compliance. Should they have other fire prevention measures in place to compensate for the exposed joists?
