An inspection turned up termite damage in a brownstone and the potential buyer is wondering if it is wise to go forward with the purchase. The inspector found termite damage to some floor joists in the cellar but otherwise determined the house to be structurally sound. The seller is offering to do termite abatement and provide documentation of the steps taken. The real estate attorney is recommending that they walk away if live insects are found. Can the termite issue be dealt with or should the buyers walk away?
